JUROR' S STATEMENT regarding "SUN SEEKERS"
I was taken by Carole S. Clark's, "Sun Seekers" in the still life category because of the luminous color interactions this artist achieved in her work. By including the view in the "color dialogue", she was able to make the less intense colors work off one another to produce a beautiful color sensation. I enjoyed the evidence of spontaneous paint manipulation and the contrasting elements of opacity and delicate transparency. Her use of keyed chromatic grays produced a successful vibrancy of color.
